Issues that this update resolves

Issue 1Assume that you use the browser of an Amazon Kindle Fire 2 device to access an ASP.NET-based webpage. When you triage a postback event on that webpage, you may receive the following JavaScript error message:

"Script Error encountered", "'__doPostBack' is undefined"

Note This issue occurs not only on Kindle Fire 2. This issue occurs whenever a browser is not recognized by ASP.NET.

Issue 2When you click an ImageButton control that is inside an update panel on an ASP.NET-based webpage by using Internet Explorer 10 and later, the partial postback operation fails. Additionally, the server-side click event is not fired.

Note If the ASP.NET browser definition file schema is customized in the Web application, this update may break the customization. There is a configuration switch to be used to revert back to the old behavior:

<appSettings>
<add key="aspnet:UseLegacyBrowserCaps" value="true" />
</appSettings>
