Symptoms

Consider the following scenario:

  • You have Microsoft Exchange Server integrated in a Microsoft Lync Server 2010 environment.

  • You do not have a Service Location (SRV) record for the Exchange Autodiscover service in the Domain Name System (DNS).

  • You configure the HTTP redirection URL for the Exchange Autodiscover service.

  • A user tries to use Lync for Mac 2011 to retrieve calendar information.

In this scenario, the user cannot retrieve the information. Additionally, the user receives the following error code:

0x80000008

Cause

This issue occurs because the Lync for Mac 2011 client redirects the user to an incorrect URL for the Exchange Autodiscover service. Therefore, when the user tries to retrieve calendar information from the client, the process is unsuccessful.

Resolution

To resolve the issue, install the following cumulative update:

2844274 Description of the Microsoft Lync for Mac 2011 14.0.5 update
