SYMPTOMS

When you attempt to print a Microsoft Excel document, you may receive the following or similar error message
Microsoft Excel did not find anything to print.
and nothing is printed.

The behavior occurs when both of the following conditions are true:
  • Any part of a drawing object falls within or is adjacent to row 65,536.
  • There are no cell entries in the worksheet.
If any cells contain data, you do not receive the error message, but drawing objects on pages below the last cell data may not be printed. If the worksheet contains only drawing objects, and one falls within row 65,536, you receive the error message and no objects are printed.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this behavior, move the drawing object completely above row 65,536. Make sure that no part of the drawing object falls in row 65,536.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.

APPLIES TO
  • Microsoft Excel 2002 Standard Edition
