Known issues in this update
After this update is installed, rules extensions and custom management agents (MAs) that are based on Extensible MA (ECMA1 or ECMA 2.0) may not run and may produce a run status of "stopped-extension-dll-load." This issue occurs when you run such rules extensions or custom MAs after you change the configuration file for MIIServer.exe, Mmsscrpt.exe.config, or Dllhost.exe.config. For example, you may take this action after you edit the MIIServer.exe.config file to change the default batch size for processing sync entries for the FIM Service MA.

Issues that are fixed or features that are added in this updateThis update fixes the following issues or adds the following features that were not previously documented in the Microsoft Knowledge Base.
Issue 1If the FIM Service's database is installed on a named instance of SQL Server, you may receive the following error message in the event log:
This would cause throttling not to work as expected.
System.NotSupportedException: SQL Server Performance Counters not found. They are needed to monitor the system workload.
FIM Synchronization Service
Issue 1Password management operations fail because the path for the cached version of the extension .dll file is too long. This problem also affects the WebService connector that is included in Forefront Identity Manager 2010 R2.
Issue 2In certain cases in which the Synchronization Service processes ancestors, memory leaks occur.
FIM Certificate Management
Feature 1This update adds the ability in the SubjectAltName policy to specify the RegisteredID alternate name in the Subject Alternate Name entry when a certificate request is issued.
Issue 1If you have Microsoft System Center Service Manager 2012 Service Pack 1 (SP1) installed, and you try to run a change-mode installation for FIM Service and Portal, the installation fails.
When you install FIM Reporting on a new server that has Service Manager 2012 SP1 installed, follow these steps:
- Install the FIM 2010 R2 SP1 FIMService component. To do this, clear the Reporting check box.
- Upgrade the FIMService installation to build 4.1.3451.0.
- Run the change-mode installation for the FIMService, and then add Reporting.
