This article was previously published under Q284914 SYMPTOMS When you add users to a global group by using Active
Directory Users and Computers, you may receive the following error message:
Object picker cannot open because no locations from
which to choose objects could be found. CAUSE This behavior can occur if you have stopped the Remote
Registry service on the domain controller to which the Active Directory Users
and Computers snap-in is connected. This error, however, is not reported when
the Active Directory Users and Computers snap-in is connected to the primary
domain controller (PDC) operations master. NOTE: When you attempt to add users to a local group, the domain that the domain controller is a member of, is not listed. However, all trusted domains are listed. RESOLUTION To resolve this behavior:
