When you resize the left and right panes in Microsoft Management Console (MMC), an access violation may occur. When this occurs, you may receive the following error message:
MMC.exe - Application Error The Instruction at 0xffff0546 referenced memory at 0xffff0546. The memory could not be read. RESOLUTIONTo resolve this problem, obtain the latest service pack for Windows 2000. For additional information, click the following article number to view the article in the

How to Obtain the Latest Windows 2000 Service Pack
STATUSMicrosoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article. This problem was first corrected in Windows 2000 Service Pack 2. MORE INFORMATION
Note that the Terminal Services Advanced Client Readme.htm file incorrectly states that this issue is resolved in Windows 2000 Service Pack 1 (SP1). The following text from the Terminal Services Advanced Client Readme.htm file is incorrect:
3.1 Terminal Services Connections Snap-in Might Cause MMC to Fail During Frame Resizing There is a known problem with the Microsoft Management Console in Windows 2000 whereby certain snap-ins, such as the Terminal Services Connections snap-in, can cause the MMC to fail under certain conditions. This can happen if the system focus is on the Terminal Services Connections snap-in, and you attempt to resize the MMC frame (that is, move the splitter bar that separates the contents pane from the topic pane).
