Ergonomic USB Keyboard Does Not Work on Toshiba Portege 7020CDT After Upgrade to Windows XP

SYMPTOMS

After you upgrade your Toshiba Portege 7020CDT portable computer to Windows XP, you may not be able to log on by using your Microsoft Universal Serial Bus (USB) ergonomic keyboard.

CAUSE

This behavior can occur if the computer has an Advanced Configuration and Power Interface (ACPI) basic input/output system (BIOS) version 7.60 and the USB Legacy Emulation option in the BIOS is set to Disabled.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this behavior, contact Toshiba to obtain version 8.0 of the BIOS.
