Microsoft distributes Microsoft SQL Server 2012 fixes in one downloadable file. Because the fixes are cumulative, each new release contains all the hotfixes and all the security updates that were included with the previous SQL Server 2012 update release.

Symptoms

Consider the following scenario:

  • You have Microsoft SQL Server 2012 Service Pack 1 (SP1) or a cumulative update package for SQL Server 2012 SP1 installed.

  • There is a user whose member level security is set to read-only permission on an entity member in Master Data Services (MDS).

  • The user selects the entity member, and then clicks Add Member to create a new member.

In this scenario, the Details window of the new member does not open. When this issue occurs, the user does not see any change on the MDS website.
