Article ID: 286503 - Last Review: November 2, 2007 - Revision: 3.5 FIX: Publication Options Disabled When Create Publication Wizard Launched from DTS Import/Export WizardThis article was previously published under Q286503
BUG #: 235596 (SHILOH_BUGS)
SYMPTOMS
In SQL Server 2000, a Data Transformation Services (DTS) package can be saved by using the Use Replication to publish destination data option in the Save, Schedule, and Replicate Package dialog box. If selected, this option allows the use of destination tables for replication. After a package is run or saved, the DTS export wizard launches the Create Publication Wizard. In the dialog box that lists the types of replication, the publication type radio buttons are unavailable, and by default the table is published for merge replication. The publication type cannot be changed to Snapshot or Transactional Replication. CAUSE
This problem occurs because a check is not made to determine if the account running the package and launching the Create Publication Wizard has the appropriate permissions to enable the destination database for replication.
RESOLUTIONTo resolve this problem, obtain the latest service pack for Microsoft SQL Server 2000. For additional information, click the following article number to view the article in the
