INTRODUCTION

This article describes that a country-specific update is available to enable the format validation for company identification number (UID) in Switzerland in Microsoft Dynamics AX 2009 Service Pack 1 (SP1), Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012, Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 R2 and Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 R3.

More Information

In Switzerland, starting from January 1, 2014, the company identification number (UID) is replacing the 6 digit VAT number (MWST).

UID has a format that resembles the following:

CHE-123.456.789 CHE is a country identifier, sometimes it can be replaced with ADM. It is be followed by dash and nine digits separated by dots. Last digit is a check digit which is calculated according to Modulo 11. UID suffix can consist of any symbols, which designate area of business and so on (For example, HR/MWST).

After you apply this update, the Tax exempt number will follow the validation format rules when the Check tax exempt number functionality is enabled for Country/Region.

Note In Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 R2, the UID is added in the Legislative enum type and can be used together with Tax registration types for managing Tax registration numbers per country for Legal entities.

Restart requirement

You must restart the Application Object Server (AOS) service after you apply this update.

The dates and times for these files are listed in Coordinated Universal Time (UTC). When you view the file information, it is converted to local time. To find the difference between UTC and local time, use the Time Zone tab in the Date and Time item in Control Panel.
