WD2000: Error Message: A Table in This Document Has Become Corrupted

SYMPTOMS

When you try to insert an AutoText entry that contains a table into a cell on the right side of a table, you may receive the following error message:
A table in this document has become corrupted. To recover the contents of the table: Select the table and choose Convert Table To Text from the Table menu.
If you click OK in the error message, the table is inserted into the cell.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this problem, obtain the latest service pack for Microsoft Office 2000. For more information, click the following article number to view the article in the Microsoft Knowledge Base:

IMPORTANT: Before you install Microsoft Office 2000 Service Pack 3 SP-3, you must have Microsoft Office 2000 Service Release 1/1a (SR-1/SR-1a) installed first. To install Office 2000 Service Pack 3, Office 2000 Service Release 1a must be installed first. To obtain Microsoft Office 2000 Service Release 1/1a (SR-1/SR-1a).

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article. The fix for this problem is included in the latest Microsoft Office 2000 Update. This problem was corrected in Microsoft Office XP.
