Only First Key Distribution Center in a Configured Kerberos Realm Is UsedArticle ID: 288337 - View products that this article applies to. This article was previously published under Q288337 SYMPTOMS
When multiple, replicated non-Windows Kerberos Key Distribution Centers (KDCs) exist, Windows 2000 will only use the first KDC as it is listed in the registry. In other words, Windows 2000 will always use one KDC for a Kerberos realm even if more than one KDC exists. This can cause server or network overloading.
