404 error when you use Internet Explorer 11 to access an RWA site that is built on a Windows Storage Server 2008 R2 Essentials-based server

Symptoms

Consider the following scenario:
  • You enable Remote Web Access (RWA) on a server that is running Windows Storage Server 2008 R2 Essentials, and you configure a domain.
  • You use Internet Explorer 11 to access https://domainname/ to log on to the RWA site, and then to visit the shared folders page.
  • You click the Company folder, or you click another folder that contains files.
In this scenario, files are not listed in the folder pages. Additionally, all the buttons in the folder pages do not work. Also, you receive the following error message:
404 – File or directory not found.
The resource you are looking for might have been removed, has its name changed, or is temporarily unavailable.

To install this update, you must be running Windows Storage Server 2008 R2 Essentials. Additionally, you must install Update Rollup 4 for Windows Storage Server 2008 R2 Essentials.
