PUB: Program Shortcut Is Replaced When You Install Publisher 2002 with Publisher 2000

After you install Microsoft Publisher 2002 and choose to keep the earlier version of Publisher, the program shortcut on the Programs menu opens Publisher 2002 instead of Microsoft Publisher 2000.

During Setup, Publisher 2002 replaces the shortcut on the Programs menu, even though you chose to keep the earlier version of Publisher.

To work around this behavior, rename the shortcut for Microsoft Publisher 2000 before you install Publisher 2002. To do this, follow these steps:

1. Click Start, point to Programs, and then right-click Microsoft Publisher.
2. Click Rename on the shortcut menu.
3. Change the shortcut name to Microsoft Publisher 2000, and then click OK.
