Summary
This article describes a hotfix package that contains the latest hotfixes for Microsoft Application Virtualization 4.6 Service Pack 2 (App-V 4.6 SP2).
Note We recommend that you test hotfixes before you deploy them in a production environment. Because the builds are cumulative, each new hotfix release contains all the hotfixes and all the security fixes that were included with the previous update package. We recommend that you consider applying the most recent fix release that contains the most necessary hotfixes.
This hotfix package fixes the following issue.
Issue
You have environment variables in an .osd file for an application package in Microsoft Application Virtualization 4.6 Service Pack 2. When a variable name begins with a character that is between the lowercase and uppercase characters in the ASCII character set (such as _, [, \, ], ^, or ‘ as the first character), the sorting logic in Application Virtualization 4.6 may create a duplicate path variable. This problem may prevent the package from starting.
If multiple applications in the same package are started in quick succession, the Application Virtualization Service may crash.
Resolution

Apply this hotfix only to systems that are experiencing the problem described in this article. This hotfix might receive additional testing. Therefore, if you are not severely affected by this problem, we recommend that you wait for the next software update that contains this hotfix.
