FIX: Locking on File Header Pages Is Reported Incorrectly

SYMPTOMS

When you look at lock resource information when a lock is held on a File Header page of a file, the lock resource lists as:

<dbid>,<fileid>,0,d instead of <dbid>,<fileid>,0,0.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this problem, obtain the latest service pack for Microsoft SQL Server 2000. For additional information, click the following article number to view the article in the Microsoft Knowledge Base:

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article. This problem was first corrected in Microsoft SQL Server 2000 Service Pack 1.

MORE INFORMATION

This problem can be seen in 1203 errors, output from trace flag 1205, as well as queries against the system table syslockinfo.
