OL2002: Meeting Request Sent from Exchange Server 5.5 to Exchange 2000 Server Arrives as Plain Text E-mail

SYMPTOMS

When you send a meeting request from a client that is connected to an Exchange Server 5.5 computer to a client that is connected to an Exchange 2000 Server computer, the meeting request may arrive as a plain text e-mail.

WORKAROUND

To work around this behavior, in the meeting request on the Exchange Server 5.5 client, specify use of Outlook Rich Text Format:
  1. Open the meeting request, right-click the address in the To line, and then click Properties.
  2. In the E-mail Properties dialog box, under Internet Format, click Send Using Outlook Rich Text Format.
  3. Click OK.
