When you attempt to work with an object in a Microsoft Word document, you may receive the following error message:
The server application, source file, or item cannot be found. Make sure the application is properly installed, and that it has not been deleted, moved, or renamed.
CAUSE
This error message occurs for one of the following reasons. Please see the "Resolution" section for the resolution that applies to your situation:
RESOLUTIONYou are trying to edit an MS Organization Chart 2.0 ObjectWhen you click OK to the error message listed in the "Error Message" section of this article, you receive the following message:
This object was created in OrgPlusWOPX. This application is not available to open this object. Make sure the application is properly installed and that it has not been deleted, moved, or renamed.
This problem can occur if you are editing a Word document that contains an MS Organization Chart 2.0 object on a computer that does not have MS Organization Chart 2.0 installed. MS Organization Chart was installed by some earlier versions of Microsoft Word. To edit your MS Organization Chart 2.0 object, use one of the following methods:
Method 1: Use the Microsoft Word Drawing ToolsTo use the drawing tools in Word to edit your Organization Chart, follow these steps:
Method 2: Use the Diagram GalleryCreate a new organization chart in your Office XP program similar to the existing organization chart that was created in the earlier version of the Office program. Delete the old Organization Chart from your file.For more information about how to add an Organization Chart, click Microsoft 'program name' Help on the Help menu, type add an organization chart in the Office Assistant or the Answer Wizard, and then click Search to view the topics returned. Organization charts from Office 2000 programs appear different in Office XP programs
You are editing an object whose program was deleted, moved, or renamedThe program with which the object is associated is missing.For example, when you double-click a bitmap image object in a Word document, and the Microsoft Windows Paint program was removed, you receive the error message.
