When you use a RefEdit control in a user form, you cannot use keyboard shortcuts, such
as CTRL+SHIFT+END, to enter a range in the RefEdit control.
Additionally, if you launch the Chart Wizard or the PivotTable Wizard from the popup menu, when you hold down CTRL+ARROW key to select a range in the PivotTable Wizard or in the Chart Wizard, the shortcut key does not work correctly.

You must have Microsoft Office 2000 Service Pack 3 or later versions installed to run the Fix it solution for Microsoft Office 2000.
You must have Microsoft Office 2002 Service Pack 2 or later versions installed to run the Fix it solution for Microsoft Office 2002.
This wizard may be in English only; however, the automatic fix also works for other language versions of Windows.
If you are not on the computer that has the problem, save the Fix it solution to a flash drive or a CD and then run it on the computer that has the problem.

Method 1: Add the registry key

How to turn on the hotfix by using the QFE_Richmond registry key
To turn on the hotfix that is listed in this article, add the following
registry key and value, according to the version of Excel that you are running.
Excel 2000
Exit Excel if it is running.
Click Start, click
Run in the Open box, type
regedit, and then click OK.
On the Edit menu, click
New, and then click DWORD value.
Type QFE_Richmond for the new value, and
then press ENTER.
Right-click the QFE_Richmond registry key, and then click Modify.
In the Value data box, type
1.
Click OK, and then exit Registry Editor.
Method 2: Use the mouse to select the range
When you are in the Wizard RefEdit Control, use the mouse to select the range instead of using the keyboard shortcut.
Method 3: Use the toolbar instead of right-clicking the menu
This issue does not occur if you use the menu instead of right-clicking to invoke the PivotTable Wizard. To do this, click PivotTable and PivotChart Report on the Data menu.
