When you run transactional replication in Microsoft SQL Server 2008 R2, SQL Server 2012, or SQL Server 2014, the Replication Queue Reader Agent may crash, and a mini dump file is generated. Additionally, the following connectivity error message is logged in the SQL Server error log:
MSSQLSERVER 14151 Server Replication-Replication Transaction Queue Reader Subsystem: agent [XXXXXXX] failed. The Queue Reader Agent has encountered the error ''TCP Provider: An existing connection was forcibly closed by the remote host.'' when connecting to ''XXXXXXXX'' on "XXXXXXX''. Ensure that the publication and subscription are defined properly.

The issue was first fixed in the following cumulative update of SQL Server.

Cumulative Update 1 for SQL Server 2014

Cumulative Update 8 for SQL Server 2012 SP1

Cumulative Update 10 for SQL Server 2008 R2 SP2
