When you attempt to create a local cube with more than 202 measures, the local cube creation may fail. When you do this from a custom Microsoft Visual Basic (VB) application using a CREATE CUBE statement in the connection string, the Open method on the connection may fail with an "Invalid Pointer" error message. When you attempt to create a local cube from the Microsoft Excel Pivot Table menu, you may see the following error message:

Creating a cube with 202 measures or less does not produce this error.
