When you attempt to programmatically send a fax by using Visual Basic for Applications (VBA), you receive the following error message:
Run-time error '5663':

Microsoft Mail Local Fax is not installed on your system.

This problem may occur if you try to use the ActiveDocument.SendFax method to send a document as a fax. The ActiveDocument.SendFax method does not work with the Microsoft Windows 2000 or Microsoft Windows XP fax program.

To work around this problem, send the fax from Microsoft Word 2002. To do this, point to Send To on the File menu, and then click Fax Recipient. Follow the steps of the Fax Wizard to send the fax.

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed in the "Applies to" section.
