SUMMARY

Versions of Microsoft Publisher earlier than Publisher 2002 include TWAIN components, which allow Microsoft Publisher to communicate with scanners and cameras. Microsoft Publisher 2002 does not provide its own version of TWAIN drivers. Microsoft Publisher 2002 supports both the TWAIN and WIA (Windows Image Acquisition) scanning protocols. TWAIN is a technology that is used to acquire an image from an external source and insert it into your document or publication. WIA is another of these technologies.
