SYMPTOMS

When you send an e-mail message by using a Hotmail account in Microsoft Outlook, the message appears in both the PST (Personal Store) and Hotmail "Sent Items" folders.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed in the "Applies to" section.

MORE INFORMATION

If you are accessing Hotmail only from the Web page or by using the MSN.com account inside MSN Explorer (for example, using your Web Browser, not using Outlook) then the Sent mail is only on the Hotmail or MSN mail servers.

Note Only MSN users who have upgraded to MSN Explorer will use the HTTP service to access their MSN e-mail. Users who are still using MSN 5.3 or earlier still need to use a POP3 account to receive e-mail.
