SYMPTOMS

When you set a custom archive file name and location for a profile in Outlook 2002 and then create a new profile that connects to the same account, the new profile's archive file name and location revert to the default.

CAUSE

This behavior occurs because the AutoArchive settings are stored in the messaging profile and the AutoArchive file name and path for any new profile are set to a default location.

MORE INFORMATION

The default location on a Windows 2000-based computer is:

C:\Documents and Settings\username\Local Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\Outlook\Archive.pst
The default location on a Windows 98-based computer is:
C:\Windows\Local Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\Outlook\Archive.pst
