FIX: Cube Remains in Repository Database After Restore of Archived Database Without Cube

SYMPTOMS

After you archive an Analysis Services database, if you add a new cube to the database and then restore the archived database, the cube that was just added remains in the database. The new cube should have been overwritten by the archived data and removed from the repository.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this problem, obtain the latest service pack for the Microsoft SQL Server 2000 (the Analysis Services Components - Sql2kasp1.exe). For additional information, click the following article number to view the article in the Microsoft Knowledge Base:

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in SQL Server Analysis Servicesversion 8.0. This problem was first corrected in SQL Server Analysis Servicesversion 8.0 Service Pack 1.
