This article describes the My Music folder in Microsoft Windows XP, and how to create a playlist of personal sounds.
When Windows Explorer recognizes a sound file, the Play All option is displayed in Windows Explorer. If you enable the Play All option, Windows Media Player starts and:
A playlist contains one or more sounds and indicates the order in which to play them in Windows Media Player for Windows XP.
You can rearrange the playlist in Windows Media Player for Windows XP by using the drag-and-drop operation to rearrange the files.
To play a selected sound during the playback of a current sound file, double-click the sound file that you want to hear.
To save a playlist, on the File menu, click Export Playlist to File. The file in the playlist is actually a shortcut to the sound file, so it is not a large file.
