Summary

Exchange 2000 Server Service Pack 1 (SP1) introduces many new enhancements to the virus scanning application programming interface (API). One of these enhancements is new virus scanning API-specific event logging. This article contains a list of the new events that are introduced with Exchange 2000 Server SP1 and describes how to enable those events.

More information

To set the level of detail that is logged by the virus scanning API:
  1. Start Exchange System Manager.
  2. In the console tree, double-click Servers, right-click the server on which you want to set the logging detail level, and then click Properties.
  3. Click the Diagnostics Logging tab.
  4. In Services, click MSExchange\System.
  5. In Categories, click Virus Scanning.
  6. Click one of the following logging levels, as appropriate:
    • None
    • Minimum
    • Medium
    • Maximum
