FIX: Error Processing Partitions in Parallel Through DTS May Cause Processing to Fail

While processing multiple partitions in parallel, when one partition attempts to write to the DTS log file, it may produce an error message that resembles the following: Following the error, the OLAP processing tasks in the package stop.

When an OLAP processing task attempts to write to the DTS log file and the log file is locked by another task, the processing task considers this to be an error, displays the above message, and stops processing.

To resolve this problem, obtain the latest service pack for the Microsoft SQL Server 2000 (the Analysis Services Components - Sql2kasp1.exe). For additional information, click the following article number to view the article in the Microsoft Knowledge Base:

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in SQL Server 2000 Analysis Services version 8.0. This problem was first corrected in the Analysis Services Components of Microsoft SQL Server 2000 Service Pack 1.
