SYMPTOMS

The Replication Manager setting in the Packaging Wizard is not saved in the Packaging Wizard Script. Any previously saved script that included the Replication Manager will not retain this setting if the script is run again.

CAUSE

There is no Replication Manager setting in the Packaging Wizard Script; therefore, changes to the setting are never saved.

RESOLUTION

You must manually select Replication Manager every time that you run the script.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.

MORE INFORMATION

The Packaging Wizard Script is a record of the selections that you made in a packaging session. Creating the script retains the selections that you made so that you can apply them to future sessions in the wizard for the same project.

Steps to Reproduce the Behavior

  1. Start the Packaging Wizard.
  2. Add the sample database Northwind.mdb as the main file.
  3. Keep clicking Next until you see the Access Runtime Properties page, and then click to select the Replication Manager check box.
  4. Keep clicking Next until you see the Build the Application Package page. Click Save the package script without building, and then click Finish.
  5. After the package is built, restart the Packaging Wizard.
  6. Add the sample database Northwind.mdb again as the main file, and make sure that Package for Northwind is selected in the Package Name box.
  7. Keep clicking Next until you see the Access Runtime Properties page.

Note that the Replication Manager setting is not selected (is unchecked).
