SYMPTOMS

When you attempt to process a BizTalk Framework compliant self-routing business document, the following error message may occur in the BizTalk Server Application event log:
An error occurred in BizTalk Server.

Details:
------------------------------
The Document Definition has been removed from the database. Avoid deleting objects when documents might exist in the queues which reference these objects. The object was not found.

CAUSE

This error message can occur if the Inbound document specification dictionary for the channel that the document is being submitted to is modified. BizTalk uses the dictionary for routing purposes and may fail to locate the correct document definition when you are processing a self-routing document, if this dictionary is not expressly used for routing purposes.

WORKAROUND

Do not modify the dictionary for Inbound document specifications for self-routing documents. This dictionary is intended to be used for routing purposes. Any modifications to this dictionary can cause self-routing documents to fail to route correctly.
