BackOffice Server (BOS) 2000 and Small Business Server (SBS) 2000 include two administration consoles. To locate these consoles: In BOS 2000, click Start, click Programs, and then click Microsoft BackOffice Server. You can then open either of the following consoles:

These consoles use the Microsoft Management Console (MMC) program. These consoles are extensible if you open them in Author mode, so that you, as an administrator, can add or remove snap-ins to these consoles based on their unique needs. To restore the original configuration of the consoles from your original SBS 2000 or BOS 2000 media, copy the .msc files that are listed in the following table from CD3 to this folder:
C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application data\Microsoft\Backoffice\Management

Note: To modify these files in Author mode, remove the read-only attribute in the file properties. If you run the integrated setup in Maintenance mode and you reinstall the consoles and snap-ins in the administration section of the installer, this preserves console files that a user has modified; this does not replace them with the original files.
