Changes to Categories Web Part Are Not Displayed Instantly

When you create new categories, they are visible on the home page instantly; however, the changes may not be displayed instantly in the category Web part. The same symptoms may occur if you rename a category or if you add new items to a category.

This problem can occur if the Indexer is busy with another task. In this case, it can take a few minutes for the new category to get indexed and for the new category to be displayed.

To work around this problem, wait until the Search service indexes the item that you recently created or changed. In most cases, it takes a couple of minutes for the Search service to index the item.
