Symptoms
Consider the following scenario:
-
You have many client devices joined to a Workplace by using Device Registration Service (DRS) on a Windows Server 2012 R2-based server.
-
You try to access a resource by using device authentication through Active Directory Federation Services (AD FS) on one of the client devices.
In this scenario, either the device authentication takes several seconds to complete, or it fails and prevents access to the resource.
Cause
This issue occurs because a suboptimal Lightweight Directory Access Protocol (LDAP) search filter is used to look up the registered device object during device authentication.
