Article ID: 296884 - Last Review: February 22, 2007 - Revision: 4.2 Access violation when you use DbOrderPromoADO pipeline component on Commerce Server 2002 Service Pack 1This article was previously published under Q296884 SYMPTOMS The DbOrderPromoADO component does not work on Microsoft Commerce
Server 2002 Service Pack 1 (SP1). When a promotion is applied to a Basket Item in the OrderForm object, the Item dictionary object is incorrectly deleted. The next time a
Pipeline component tries to use this Basket Item, an access violation occurs.
CAUSE When a promotion is applied to a Basket Item, the pipeline
component incorrectly releases the Component Object Model (COM) interface
pointer to the Basket Item dictionary object twice. As a result, the COM object is deleted,
and the OrderForm dictionary object reference to this Basket Item is no longer
valid. RESOLUTION
