FIX: PropertyBag Objects Fail Under COM+ When They Are Passed in Same COM+ Application

SYMPTOMS

When a Microsoft Visual Basic component passes a PropertyBag object as a String to a method of another Visual Basic component in the same COM+ application, the method call may fail with the following error messages:
runtime error 13 - type mismatch
-and-
runtime error 5 - invalid procedure call or argument

RESOLUTION

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article. This problem was first corrected in Windows 2000 Service Pack 2.
