Typically, you use the Add/Remove Programs tool in Control Panel to remove Mobile Information Server. After you do so, you can reinstall Mobile Information Server. However, if you also delete Mobile Information Server accounts when you remove Mobile Information Server (such as the Microsoft Mobility Admins account), you must also manually delete Mobile Information Server-related queues.

In this case, after you remove Mobile Information Server (including SMS Connector), you must use the Computer Management snap-in to manually remove the Mobile Information Server queues and SMS Connector queues that are listed in the following tables:

The Mobile Information Server queues are created by Mobile Information Server during Setup. Mobile Information Server Setup also creates the Default SMSGW Outbound Queue. Other queues may be created during administration of SMS Connector. Because the queues may contain useful messages, you must manually delete these queues; they are not deleted automatically when you remove Mobile Information Server. To manually delete queues:
