SymptomsIn a Microsoft Exchange Server 2010 Service Pack 3 (SP3) environment, an Exchange Web Service (EWS)-based application cannot retrieve messages from the server. This issue does not occur in a MAPI application or in Microsoft Outlook. CauseThis issue occurs if there are invalid control characters in the plaintext body of an email message. This causes an XML deserialization error. Exchange Web Service (EWS)-based applications cannot process invalid control characters in an Exchange Server 2010 SP3 environment.
