SUMMARY

This step-by-step article describes how to install Microsoft Internet Explorer 5.5 with Microsoft Office XP on a Microsoft Windows 2000 Professional-based computer.

When you install Office XP, by default Microsoft Internet Explorer 5.01 (version 5.00.2919.6307) is not installed, even though it is included on the Office CD-ROM. If you want to, you can include Microsoft Internet Explorer 5.5 (version 5.50.4134.600) with the installation of Office XP. This article describes the steps that you must perform in order to install Internet Explorer 5.5 with Office XP on a computer that is running Windows 2000 Professional.

  7. On the Specify an INI file to customize page, click Files\Setup\Setup.ini, and then click Next.

NOTE: This is the Setup.ini file that the wizard will customize.

  9. On the Select MSI and EXE files to include in your INI file page, click Browse.
  10. Locate and then click Ie5setup.exe in the folder that you created for the Internet Explorer installation files that is now located in your Office administrative installation folder. Click Open.
