SYMPTOMS

The French-language version of Internet Explorer 5.5 Service Pack 1 (SP1) incorrectly includes the debug version of Hlink.dll (packaged in Ie_1.cab):

This problem impacts the use of Microsoft Office programs such as Microsoft Excel, which may display the following assertion failure error message if you open an Excel spreadsheet by using Hypertext Transfer Protocol (HTTP):
