When you attempt to insert an AutoCad (CAD) drawing into a Microsoft Visio drawing, you may receive the following error message:
Microsoft Visio has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience. If you were in the middle of something, the information you were working on might be lost. Restart Microsoft Visio Please tell Microsoft about this problem We have created an error report that you can send to help us improve Microsoft Visio. This behavior can occur if the CAD drawing is inserted into a Visio drawing that is embedded in another Visio drawing.
RESOLUTION
To work around this issue, insert the CAD drawing directly into your Visio drawing. To do this, follow these steps:
