Summary

This step-by-step guide explains how to use Sharepoint Team Services Site Administration to install FrontPage 2002 Server Extensions on a server based on either Windows NT Server 4.0 or Windows 2000 Server. Please note that this article addresses installing FrontPage Server Extensions by using the SharePoint Administrator only.

System Requirements

  • Microsoft Windows 2000 Server with Microsoft Internet Information Services (IIS) 5.0 or later and the World Wide Web service installed.

    -or-

Microsoft Windows NT Server 4.0, Service Pack 6a or later with Microsoft Internet Information Server (IIS) 4.0 or later and the World Wide Web service installed.

NOTE: On the Windows platform, the security features of FrontPage 2002 Server Extensions require the NTFS file system. Windows 2000 includes a conversion utility (Convert.exe) that you can use to convert an existing file allocation table (FAT) volume to NTFS--without losing data. If you try to install FrontPage 2002 Server Extensions to a hard disk formatted with FAT, your default virtual server may not be extended. Also, any sites you create on that virtual server will not be secure.
  • Microsoft Internet Explorer 4.0 or later
  • From 30 to 70 megabytes (MB) of available hard disk space. Additional hard disk space is needed to host the Web sites and subwebs your users will create. These requirements are guidelines only, and vary depending on the platform and operating system.

How to Download the Server Extensions
