The "Write to CD" Option is Available While Copying Files to the Staging Area

SYMPTOMS

The process of copying large amounts of data to the CD-ROM temporary files area may take several minutes. During this time, the option to Write To CD is available and can be clicked. However, if you click this option, the CD copy operation may not succeed and may create an unusable disc.

CAUSE

This problem occurs because the files are still in the process of being copied and therefore do not yet exist in the temporary files location.

RESOLUTION

To work around this problem, do not click the Write To CD option while files are being copied to the temporary files area.

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.
