Exchange 2000 Server fixes are distributed in service packs. Service packs keep the product current. Service packs include updates, system administration tools, drivers, and additional components. All are conveniently bundled for easy downloading. Service packs are cumulative. Therefore, bugs that are fixed in one service pack are also fixed in subsequent service packs. For example, the bugs that are fixed by Exchange 2000 Server Service Pack 1 (SP1) are also fixed by Exchange 2000 Server Service Pack 2 (SP2).

An update rollup package is a less comprehensive group of updates, system administration tools, drivers, and additional components that have been created after the release of a service pack. Update rollup packages focus on correcting specific issues so that you do not have to wait for the next complete service pack to be released.
