SYMPTOMS

When you try to insert a picture by using any of the programs listed at the beginning of this article, the Insert Picture dialog box always defaults to Thumbnails view.

To work around this behavior, after the Insert Picture dialog box opens, switch to the view that you want. Or, you can use the following Visual Basic for Applications macro code in Microsoft Word to switch the view when you open the Insert Picture dialog box.
