OL2002: User Is Prompted for Password That Is Already Saved

When you click Send/Receive to process your Microsoft Network (MSN) e-mail, you may be prompted for the user name and password, even though the Remember Password check box is selected on the Servers tab of that mail account's properties.

To resolve this problem, obtain the latest service pack for Microsoft Office XP.

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article. This problem was first corrected in Microsoft Office XP Service Pack 1. This problem was first corrected in the Microsoft Outlook 2002 Update: June 21, 2001.
