SYMPTOMS

When you attempt to save a power scheme by using a scheme name that already exists, you may receive the following error message:
Power Policy Manager unable to set policy.

Indicates two revision levels are incompatible.

RESOLUTION

If you want to use an existing profile name for a new profile, you must delete the existing profile:
  1. Click Start, click Control Panel, and then double-click Power Options.
  2. Click the profile that you want to delete, and then click Delete. You can now use the name of the profile you deleted for a new profile.
