SUMMARY
This article explains how to remove the Microsoft Office
2000 Service Release 1 (SR-1) or Service Release 1a (SR-1a) update after you
have updated your Microsoft Office installation. Note that you cannot remove
only the SR-1/SR-1a update. You must first remove Office, and then reinstall
Office without the SR-1/SR-1a update.
Determine Whether the Office SR-1/SR-1a Update Is installed
To determine whether the Office SR-1/SR-1a update is installed,
follow these steps:
1.
Start any Office program.
2.
On the Help menu, click the item that begins with "About." For example, if
you start Microsoft Word, click About Microsoft Word.
If the Office 2000 SR-1 or SR-1a update is installed,
"SR-1" is displayed next to the program name in the dialog box. Note that
"SR-1" is displayed whether you have SR-1 or SR-1a installed. This is because
the SR-1a update does not update any files that are not updated by the SR-1
update.
The Office 2000 SR-1a update includes the original Office
2000 SR-1 update and the Office 2000 SR-1/Windows 2000 Registry Repair utility.
This utility is the only addition to the SR-1a update.
The Office
2000 SR-1a update is available for download from the following Microsoft Web
