When an Outlook 2002 (Microsoft Office XP) client is connected to a mailbox that resides on a Microsoft Exchange 2000 Server computer, if you use the Outlook 2002 client to view the item count and the number of items, they may be incorrect. This problem may occur when you receive new mail, change folders, delete mail, or move mail from folder to folder.
CAUSE
This problem can occur because of a new permissions feature in Exchange 2000. When you assign permissions to items by using drive M (EXIFS), you affect the way that the client retrieves all of the items in the folder in which you made the permission assignment.
