Article ID: 302852 - Last Review: January 31, 2007 - Revision: 2.4 OL2000: Item Count Incorrect for Messages with Modified Permission
This article was previously published under Q302852 SYMPTOMS
When you use Outlook 2000 to connect to a mailbox that resides on a Microsoft Exchange 2000 server, the item count and the number of items may be incorrect. This behavior may occur when you receive new messages, change folders, delete messages, or move messages from folder to folder.
CAUSE
This problem is caused by a new permissions feature of Exchange 2000. When you assign permissions to items using drive M, it affects the way the client retrieves all items in the folder in which the permission assignment was made.
